Mama Diabaté is a Guinean multi-instrumentalist artist born in Bagna in the Faranah region. In 1970 Mama Diabaté started playing music she was called Sankaran kono (the bird of Sankaran). She is the only woman and the only artist musician to be able to play 6 traditional instruments among others: bolon, kora, doundoun, dan, balafon, djembé + guitar. She came up with 3 albums; N’na niwale, Koffi Cola Na Yo, La Biche du Manding.
Ismael Kouyate and Bebe Camara are Mama Diabate’s kids living in the United States. Bebe and her brother Ismael are gifted with some beautiful vocals. Ismael has perform on the broadway and also was featured on Beyonce’s son “Grown Woman.”
